X-Men 97 hints at Magneto and Rogue's romantic past, but where does Gambit factor in it? How does the new X-Men show treat the Magneto/Rogue/Gambit love triangle and how much does Gambit know?

Exploring Magneto and Rogue's Relationship in X-Men 97
Magneto and Rogue dated for some time in the X-Men comics, but Χ-Men 97 is the first animated series exploring their past.
The first two episodes of the new series turn Magneto from X-Men's antagonist into their ally, calling him to take on Charles Xavier's mantle as leader.
In the second episode of the series, Magneto's return brings him face-to-face with Rogue, and the tension makes their past romantic relationship apparent.
However, Gambit is also interested in Rogue. Their feelings are mutual but they are currently unable to have a physical relationship as Rogue's touch would drain Gambit's energy.
On the other hand, Rogue and Magneto are able to touch as their powers cancel each other out.
Does Gambit Know About Magneto and Rogue's Past?
Gambit is Rogue's canon love interest in most X-Men media. So far, the new series hasn't specified how much Rogue has told him about her past with Magneto. However, episode 2 suggests that he knows a bit.
In the episode's closing moments, we see Gambit holding the Queen of Hearts card, which he drops, obviously hurt, when he sees Rogue leave Magneto's room.
Even if the extent to which he knows about their past romance isn't clear, he does understand the implications of Rogue having been in Magneto's room.
The fact that Gambit cannot touch Rogue makes it impossible for them to touch, which only adds salt to the wound as he likely feels that he doesn't stand a chance.
The Queen of Hearts card, which often symbolizes love is a sign that makes Gambit's frustration more tangible.
So far, the show has only addressed his feelings through visual storytelling.
Of course, future episodes will likely explore the love triangle further, and possibly include a confrontation that will allow Gambit to verbalize his feelings.
Who Does Rogue End Up With? Gambit or Magneto?

Canonically, Rogue ends up with Gambit but we'll have to wait and see if this will be the case here.
