Does Daredevil's Vincent D'Onofrio Want in on The Batman?

News had just dropped yesterday that Zoe Kravitz has been cast as the new Catwoman, and a lot of people are still waiting on other characters said to be in the film like the Riddler and Penguin. What's interesting is, Daredevil's Vincent D'Onofrio may want in on the movie.

He called out director Matt Reeves after Reeves announced that Kravitz would be part of his film:

It's not really anything, but it would be interesting if D'Onofrio found himself in the DC Universe. I can imagine him playing Penguin in the film, and he could be a nice contrast to Jonah Hill's Riddler (should Hill be cast), seeing as Hill is significantly younger.

Though D'Onofrio has a lot of great roles under his belt, Marvel fans probably know him best for playing Wilson Fisk a.k.a. The Kingpin in Daredevil. His performance was probably one of the best in the series, but I can imagine him giving a completely original take if he was going to play a Batman villain.

For now, Robert Pattinson and Kravitz are the only people officially listed in the cast. Jeffrey Wright (Westworld) is currently being eyed to play Jim Gordon, but we haven't had updates on rumors like Hill playing Riddler or John David Washington playing Harvey Dent. For now, all we can really do is wait, but with Kravitz now cast, I'm sure we'll get more announcements in the next few weeks.

Matt Reeves' The Batman is set for a release on June 25, 2021.
