Demon Slayer’s latest season may have had a more mixed reception, but fans are still excited to see more of the show’s animation, which continues to be excellent. Aside from the upcoming season, it seems that fans can look forward to a movie trilogy covering the Demon Slayer Infinity Castle Arc.

There’s no official announcement yet, but rumors have been spreading online about a potential movie trilogy to end the anime adaptation.

Whatever the case may be, it’s safe to say that the manga’s entire story will be animated given how popular the anime continues to be.

Despite the mixed reception of the latest season because of its story and pace, a new Demon Slayer anime season has been confirmed following the Swordsmith Village Arc’s finale.

This upcoming season will adapt the Hashira Training Arc, though calling it a season is a bit of a stretch. That’s because the arc in the manga is only nine chapters long.

For reference, the Swordsmith Village Arc is 30 chapters long in the manga. At a similar pace, it’s likely that the next season will only be three to four episodes long.

Given this, some expect that the new season will be more like a short OVA special. But it remains to be seen what the case will be.

Interestingly, new leaks have no info on the next arc. Instead, the leaks point to the Infinity Castle Arc being a movie trilogy.

After the Hashira Training Arc, the manga moves on to the Final Battle Arc which is divided into two sub-arcs: the Infinity Castle and Sunrise Countdown arcs.

As the Infinity Castle Arc is 47 chapters in length, its events should be easily covered by three movies. This is based on the Mugen Train movie’s 13 chapters which were turned into a movie.

Turning this major arc into a movie trilogy makes sense given how successful both the Mugen Train and the Swordsmith Village theatrical releases were.

It’ll be interesting to see if the final Sunrise Countdown Arc will be part of the film trilogy, or if it will be its own release.

For now, fans will have to wait for an official announcement, though it’s not clear when that will be.
