After initial unconfirmed reports, the Delicious in Dungeon manga is officially ending its run this September, with the latest chapter set to be released in the next issue of Kadokawa’s Harta magazine.
While the manga will end soon, it’s fair to say that it had a successful run. After all, Delicious in Dungeon has been serialized since early 2014, meaning its total run is almost a decade long.
Fans can also look forward to an upcoming anime adaptation that’s coming early next year from the ever-popular Studio Trigger.
Delicious in Dungeon Is Getting an Anime by Studio Trigger
Even though Delicious in Dungeon isn’t exactly a mainstream manga, the upcoming anime adaptation has a lot of hype behind it. This is thanks in large part to the anime studio that’s working on the series.
Handling animation duties for the show is Studio Trigger, the beloved anime studio that’s best known for works such as Kill la Kill, SSSS.Gridman, and Little Witch Academia.
Last year, Trigger also got a lot of attention for its latest work, Cyberpunk: Edgerunners, which was considered by many to be one of the highlight anime of 2022.
Instead of going back to an original work, Trigger is once again working on an adaptation, this time with Delicious in Dungeon.
This series is also a bit unusual for Trigger given that the studio hasn’t done a straight-up fantasy series like this one. At least the comedic elements of it should be a good match for the studio’s style.

Delicious in Dungeon Manga Is Ending Very Soon
Previously, reports surfaced online about the upcoming ending of the manga. Now, these reports are confirmed as the listing for the next Harta magazine issue revealed that Delicious in Dungeon’s last chapter will be released there.
With this, the Delicious in Dungeon official manga ending date is September 15, 2023. The last chapter will be Chapter 97.
Even though it has been serialized for nearly a decade, it might be surprising to see it only have less than 100 chapters. That’s because the manga has a monthly release schedule.
While many fans have said that they’ll sorely miss the series, the ending does not come as a surprise to many as it has been mentioned before by its creator.
As for the anime, the Delicious in Dungeon show will premiere in April 2024. The show will be streamed online globally through Netflix.
