There is little doubt that Deadpool 3 is one of the most anticipated films that has yet to be confirmed. But why is it taking so long to get a sequel? Rob Liefeld claims that Marvel Studios is the culprit for the delay.
Fans have long suspected that although Deadpool 3 is in the plans, Disney and Marvel are still trying to figure out how to deal with the sequel. After all, Deadpool is one of the hottest properties they procured after the Fox acquisition. However, the films were also R-rated and it could be difficult to market for the House of Mouse. On the other hand, Liefeld believes that Marvel Studios is the one that's holding the movie back.
Liefeld recently spoke to Comicbook.com where he stated that Marvel is the only one to blame.
"I blame Marvel…blame Marvel that that hasn't happened yet," Liefeld said. "They are the reason it isn't happening. Whatever conundrum or it didn't fit into your master plan, just commission it. Okay, commission it. You know if Frank Frazetta was still around, you would say, ‘Frank paint for me.'"
We're not sure why Liefeld is blaming Marvel but there are several reasons behind the delay. For now, Deadpool 3 has not yet been officially announced. In the meantime, we are waiting for some updates on the project.
