The New Mutants Still Getting Theatrical Release Despite VOD Listing

There is little doubt that people are currently itching to see The New Mutants after a few awesome photos from the film were leaked into social media. The leak was almost immediately followed by the X-Men spin-off movie being listed as one of the titles that will soon be available for Video On Demand (VOD). However, a new report claims that Disney still has every intention to give the comic book horror flick a real theatrical release.

The Hollywood Reporter pointed out that The New Mutants was previously listed for pre-order on Amazon. However, it was immediately taken down as the listing was reportedly a mistake based on the film's previous release date. The report stated that Amazon's system had automatically added the movie to its list based on its supposed April premiere.

Sadly, this means that fans will have to wait even longer before getting the chance to see The New Mutants. On the other hand, we might still be able to enjoy it in theaters. THR further added that Disney still plans to give the movie a well-deserved theatrical run.

The New Mutants has been delayed several times over the past two years and was finally set for release in April. Unfortunately, the film encountered yet another problem as its premiere date was right in the middle of the Coronavirus outbreak. For now, Disney has not yet given the movie a new release date. Stay tuned for more updates on this story.
