With the actors' strike still ongoing, there have been concerns for the past few weeks about whether Deadpool 3 will be able to make it to its May 2024 release since filming was only halfway done when production shut down last July.

Initially, a report revealed that Disney was targeting to keep the current release date which was seen as a long shot since the window is getting smaller as the days go by and it is unlikely for them now to finish the film even if the strike ends very soon.

Direction Shawn Levy also cast doubt on the film's planned early summer release in a recent interview which makes the likelihood of a delay more inevitable than before.

Now, we have a new update on the highly-anticipated MCU film's release date and, as we expected, it is no longer set for release in summer next year.

Deadline has reported that Deadpool 3 is moving off from its May 3, 2024 release. Even if the actors' strike ends soon, production will not be able to begin until the beginning of 2024 since there are a lot of preparations that need to be done.

No new date has been set yet for its release. Disney's current options are either early November next year or Thunderbolts' current date which is on December 20, 2024.

While it is a long shot, there is a likelihood that Captain America: Brave New World might move back to May 3 since the film already finished production before the strike. However, it might also need some time to do reshoots when the strike ends.

This is certainly disappointing news for fans who have been looking forward to its release in the summer of next year, but it is also inevitable since the strike is still ongoing and it's too impossible for the production team to finish everything in time even if the strike ends very soon.

It won't also be surprising if we hear more delays again in the coming weeks since films such as Thunderbolts and Blade have yet to begin production despite being dated for December 2023 and February 2024, respectively.

We should be hearing more news and updates regarding the upcoming releases very, very soon given the fluidity of the situation.
