DC is Reprinting the Batman 1989 Movie Comic For the First Time Ever

Tim Burton's 1989 Batman film is still fondly remembered to this day since many feel like the movie was able to make everyone forget about the Caped Crusader's campy days. Granted, the film still had comedic moments, not to mention that Joel Schumacher and Warner Bros would make the movies campy again before Christopher Nolan eventually rebooted the franchise but even without all of that, Batman 1989 is still a great time and any superhero fan should check it out.

Back in the day, if you didn't have enough money to see the film in theaters again, DC has an interesting alternative; a comic book adaptation of the film. Written by Batman veteran Dennis O'Neil and illustrated by Jerry Ordway, it was the kind of adaptation that felt like it could only happen back then. However, in an interesting move, DC has announced that they will be reprinting the comic book adaptation in a shiny new hardcover scheduled for November.

It's pretty shocking to see something like this get reprinted, with DC explaining through the solicitation that the reprint is being done for the movie's 30th anniversary. That's awesome and we would like to see other comic adaptations like this follow suit.

Here's a synopsis of the graphic novel (via Newsarama):
