DC's Creature Commandos Series Finally Unveils Its Main Cast

The first DCU project under James Gunn and Peter Safran that is expected to air is the Creature Commandos animated series, which is also currently in production. However, we haven't heard any other update regarding the project, especially on the casting front.

Fortunately, our wait is over as the full voice cast for Creature Commandos has been revealed. According to Collider, the series will feature the talents of Frank Grillo (as Rick Flag Sr.), David Harbour (as Eric Frankenstein), Maria Bakalova (as Princess Ilana Rostovic), Indira Varma (as The Bride), Zoe Chao (as Nina Mazursky), and Alan Tudyk (as Dr. Phosphorus).

In addition, Sean Gunn will be voicing both Weasel and the new character G.I. Robot. Steve Agee will also reprise the role of John Economos, a character that he previously played in multiple DC projects such as The Suicide Squad, Peacemaker, and Shazam! Fury of the Gods.

In the animated series, the Creature Commandos team will work under the supervision of Amanda Waller (although it is not yet confirmed if Viola Davis will voice the role as well). It is set to be the first series that will air in the new DCU franchise and the first installment in Chapter One: Gods and Monsters.

Gunn wrote all seven episodes of the series. He also mentioned in the past that the actors that they'll cast in the DCU projects will reprise the same role in all mediums across live-action, animation, and video games which means we might see the aforementioned actors again if the characters appear in live-action projects.

This is exciting news for DC fans since they are essentially the first batch of cast members in the new DCU franchise. Some of them are also part of the MCU which also just shows that it is now common for actors to jump between two comic book franchises.

Let's wait and see for more news and updates regarding the series soon as well as the casting on other DCU projects including Superman: Legacy, which is expected to start looking for the new Man of Steel soon.
