Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom is set to make its long-awaited arrival in theaters by the end of the year and a lot of fans are looking forward to seeing the DCEU's swan song before it segues into the reboot of the franchise under James Gunn and Peter Safran.

Not only that, the film could also be Jason Momoa's last film as Aquaman and there is an anticipation on how they'll tackle the hero's next and potentially last heroic journey in the underwater world.

So far, most of the plot details remain under wraps, but there are reports that have claimed that the production has been troubled behind the scenes. Whether it has impacted the actual story that they are telling, it still remains to be seen.

Now, as we're heading a little closer to its release in just a couple of months, it looks like the film will be getting a supplemental tie-in for fans and learn about what happened in Atlantis before the events of the sequel.

DC Comics has announced that they are releasing a prequel comic to the upcoming DCEU film Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom this fall.

Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom #1 is a one-shot comic that is set before the events of the sequel. It is written by Tim Seeley, Joey Esposito, and Ethan Sacks. It will be on sale on October 31.

The synopsis reads: "Discover the shocking events that connect the smash-hit Aquaman movie to the eagerly anticipated Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom! Aquaman balances his duties as king and as a member of the Justice League, all while planning a wedding!"

"Black Manta is on the hunt for Atlantean tech to help rebuild his armor! Orm plots to escape his Atlantean prison! Three action-packed tales crammed into a single special!"

This won't be the first time that a DCEU film received a prequel comic treatment as it also happened as well with The Flash which told Barry Allen and Batffleck's story before the events of the film.

As fans are anticipating the film's release, this could be a good supplemental content for them while waiting and they will be able to learn what happened with the titular hero between the events of the first and second movie.
