David Tennant Sports His Iconic Look As He Returns in New Doctor Who Trailer

David Tennant is once again returning in BBC’s Doctor Who 60th Anniversary Special as the Fourteenth Doctor, before eventually passing the torch to the Fifteenth Doctor, Sex Education star Ncuti Gatwa.

Tennant has played the Tenth Doctor for five seasons from 2005-2010, rendering him the longest-running doctor in the sci-fi franchise.

While it’s no regular thing for a previous doctor to keep reprising their roles on the show, anniversary special episodes are different and fans couldn’t care less about the logic behind it.

Tennant’s latest return to the series was in Doctor Who 50th Anniversary Special, The Day of the Doctor, alongside co-star Matt Smith’s Eleventh Doctor and John Hurt’s War Doctor.

However, this anniversary special is different. After all, he is not only coming for a quick cameo like the previous one, but he has been regenerated back, right after the Thirteenth Doctor (Jodie Whittaker), making him the main character again.

A new trailer for the Doctor Who 60th Anniversary Specials (2023) has just been released, and it’s featuring David Tennant sporting his iconic gelled hair and suit up along with the return of another fan-favorite Doctor companion: Donna Noble (Catherine Tate).

The titles of the three specials are as follows: The Star Beast, Wild Blue Yonder, and The Giggle.

The trailer also introduced two new stars: Heartstopper’s Yasmin Finney and How I Met Your Mother’s Neil Patrick Harris joining the franchise.

Considering that this is going to be the first time the Doctor will reunite with Donna after erasing her memories since their last time together, fans are more hyped than ever to witness the two go on an adventure together once again.

The Doctor Who 60th Anniversary Special is set to air in November.

The new specials and upcoming series starring Ncuti’s Fifteenth Doctor will premiere in the UK and Ireland on BBC, which will soon be available internationally on Disney+.
