A Doctor Who TV spot dropped a short Doctor Who 60th-anniversary trailer to give a glimpse into the villain played by Neil Patrick Harris, whose superpowers are similar to a classic Doctor Who antagonist. Hence, it just hints at who this mysterious character may be.

The role Harris plays in Doctor Who 60th anniversary remains a big mystery. However, the revelation of his superpowers starts the speculations about who this character may be.

The New Doctor Who 60th Anniversary Trailer

In the teaser captured by Bad Wolf Archives, a new transmission disturbed the usual BBC1 broadcast to show a glimpse of the upcoming three-episode special.

It features Harris’ villainous character, wearing a tuxedo and dancing amid the chaos in the streets.

The Doctor Who 60th Anniversary Villains

According to Screen Rant, the Fourteenth Doctor will face several foes in the upcoming Doctor Who 60th anniversary.

One of them is the classic comic book antagonist Beep the Meep, whom the Fourth Doctor (Tom Baker) battled in the 1980 Doctor Who and the Star Beast.

However, the villain Harris plays remains under wraps despite being one of the first confirmed cast members in the show.

Harris’ Villain is Similar to a Classic Doctor Who Character

Harris’ villain is seen as a powerful threat thanks to his menacing demeanor.

He owns a mysterious vintage toyshop, giving birth to speculations that the How I Met Your Mother star may be playing a modern incarnation of the Celestial Toymaker, first played by Michael Gough in 1966.

The Toymaker is an insane, all-powerful immortal who plays catastrophic games to distract himself from isolation.

Fans haven’t seen the Toymaker since his first appearance, and he was only briefly mentioned in the 2020 Doctor Who episode Can You Hear Me?

By the looks of it, his superpowers are to control and manipulate people, similar to the Toymaker’s abilities.

Fans should take these assumptions with a grain of salt, as nothing is confirmed yet.
