Daredevil Star Vincent D'Onofrio Gives Inspirational Message After Netflix Cancels The Show

If anyone was going to be happy about the cancellation of Daredevil, many would assume that it was going to be Kingpin. While the fictional character is probably pleased about this, Vincent D'Onofrio is not actually Wilson Fisk in real life and has some really nice things to say about the character, which is really nice to see. Here's hoping that he returns when Disney inevitably brings the series back.

On Twitter, D'Onofrio brings up how the series is gone but how the character will live on in a fairly dramatic, yet awesome, way. His message can be read below and it shows just how passionate the actor was about the series, which isn't surprising since he was arguably the best performer in it.

D'Onofrio brought a lot of nuance and complexity to Wilson Fisk, perfectly portraying the comic book character and even outdoing the original iteration at times. He made the villain, powerful, intimidating, and sympathetic, which can be hard to pull off but that's exactly what D'Onofrio did. It's a shame that we haven't seen Kingpin in a Spider-Man movie yet since they would have one hell of a dynamic.

With Netflix having a lot of new shows and movies to manage, along with Disney working on their upcoming streaming service, it seems like this was inevitable. While sad, this probably isn't the last we've seen of Daredevil, Kingpin, or the rest of the series' supporting cast.

Daredevil can currently be streamed on Netflix.
