Daredevil Season 4 Was Already Planned Out Before It Was Canceled

Netflix has done the unthinkable and has canceled Daredevil after a successful third season, with many fans of the platform disappointed by the news. While not always perfect, the show was often considered to be the strongest of the Netflix-Marvel lineup and it will be sad to see it go. This didn't just take fans by surprise but the people who made the show as well since the entire fourth season had already been planned out by the writers.

According to the series co-producer Sam Ernst, he and the writers had already laid out plans for the entire fourth season of the show before Netflix decided to cancel it. This is going to make fans even sadder since the third season did leave a few things open for season four and now we'll never be able to see it, at least on Netflix. There's always Disney+ I guess.

Considering how Bullseye was set up on the third season, along with new developments for Matt, Foggy, and Karen, it seemed like a fourth season was on the horizon for Daredevil but it wasn't meant to be. This makes the futures for Jessica Jones and The Punisher much scarier since they are no longer ensured.

With Netflix having a lot of new shows and movies to manage, along with Disney working on their upcoming streaming service, it seems like this was inevitable. While sad, this probably isn't the last we've seen of Daredevil.

Daredevil can currently be streamed on Netflix.
