It has already been confirmed that Vanessa Fisk will be showing up in Daredevil: Born Again. However, the role has been recast with Sandrine Holt filling in to play Wilson Fisk's wife. But what does Ayelet Zurer have to say about being left out of the Marvel Cinematic Universe reboot? The former Daredevil star has broken her silence and addressed the recast.
Ayelet Zurer played Vanessa Marianna-Fisk in Daredevil, appearing in all three seasons of the Marvel Netflix series. So when the reboot was announced, it was only natural that fans expected the Man of Steel actor will be brought back to star opposite Vincent D'onofrio's Kingpin. However, it has since been confirmed that Vanessa will be portrayed by Fear the Walking Dead actor Sandrine Holt.
So what does Ayelet Zurer have to say about the recast? The Angels & Demons star has finally addressed the situation in an Instagram Story where she shared an article about the recast.
"Sad not to take part but will always be @vincentdonofrio biggest fan," Zurer wrote.
It's unfortunate that Ayelet Zurer will not be returning as Vanessa but we're expecting Sandrine Holt to nail her performance as Vanessa as well.
Daredevil: Born Again will bring back Charlie Cox as Matt Murdock, Jon Bernthal as Frank Castle aka The Punisher, and Vincent D'onofrio as Wilson Fisk. For now, they are the only original stars who are set to return in the reboot. It has been confirmed that Deborah Ann Woll and Elden Henson will not return as Karen Page and Foggy Nelson.
The reboot is currently in production and has not yet been given an official release date. Nevertheless, Daredevil: Born Again is set to consist of 18 new episodes in its first season alone and is expected to premiere on Disney+ sometime in early 2024. Stay tuned for more updates on this story.
