You might want to check on your friends who are Daredevil fans, as this week has been an emotional rollercoaster for them. Starting with the news that Daredevil: Born Again had finally begun filming, with Jon Bernthal reprising his role as the Punisher in the series, However, that joy didn't last long, as it was also announced that fan-favorites Deborah Ann Woll and Elden Henson wouldn't be returning for the revival. And just when you thought that was all, the reboot’s release window received its delay. Marvel’s Phase 5 had a failed opening with Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania and fans are worried that will continue if the future offerings of the franchise gather disappointment even after their premiere.

Not that it's brand new information, but the entire slate of Marvel content on Disney Plus appears to be suffering from delays. According to source KC Walsh, Born Again has seemingly been pushed back from its early 2024 premiere date, adjusting to a Q2 2024 release window. Before this, Echo was first reported to be shifting from a late 2023 release date to the first quarter of 2024, making Daredevil's postponement not a surprise but a disappointment. It has long been believed that Vincent D'Onofrio and Charlie Cox will both feature in Echo, making it sort of a Born Again precursor, given Maya Lopez's link to Kingpin. Therefore, it follows that Daredevil must also be delayed if Echo is.

Due to this shocking news, MCU fans took their frustration to social media. “Not bringing back the two most integral parts of the show outside of Daredevil but making sure they announced the Punisher was coming back so the fans could clap like trained seals at the screen tells you everything you need to know,” ranted Twitter user @BrosephSZN.

Meanwhile, user @sourmurdock wrote: “Deborah Ann Woll said she’d return to Daredevil in a heartbeat how can y’all tell me she is not coming back in Daredevil: Born Again THAT DOESN’T MAKE SENSE SOMEONE DID SOMETHING WRONG.”

In a previous interview, Daredevil star Cox, who plays the titular hero, Matt Murdock, said Daredevil: Born Again wouldn’t continue the first Netflix show. “Born Again is iconically a Daredevil run in the comics and it's a great title for our show because we are doing this show again in a new way,” said Cox. “I think the show will be slightly tonally different — I don't know how yet — I haven't read anything yet. We're doing 18 episodes, that tells me that the structure and the way we're going to tell our story will be slightly different," he continued, comparing Born Again to the Netflix series.

Daredevil: Born Again is expected to air in late 2024.
