So let's talk about Tuklo, the role of Dannie McCallum in Echo.

Unlike Maya Lopez's (played by Alaqua Cox) character in the series, Tuklo isn't mentioned in the comics. The only thing we know about her, at this point, is that she is an ancestor of Maya.

As mentioned by Plugged In, Tuklo appears in Echo episode three as a flashback. She is described as a woman who wanted to be part of the Lighthorsemen like her father.

The Lighthorsemen were a group of tribal mounted police forces that protected the Choctaw reservation from evildoers. Considering Tuklo's story is set in the past, things were slightly conservative in their lineage.

Tuklo's father prohibited his daughter from joining the Lighthorsemen since women were "life-givers" while men were "life-takers."

After the Lighthorsement was ambushed, Tuklo managed to protect their tribe and kill the villains. This allowed Tuklo to be the only female member to be part of the group.

She will likely motivate Maya to pursue her skill and talent as her descendant.
