Daily Dose of Sunshine is a 12-episode K-Drama that was directed by Lee Jae-Kyoo, the same director behind All of Us Are Dead.

The show follows the story of a sweet nurse, Jung Da-Eun (played by Park Bo-Young) as she helps her patients in the psychiatric ward.

Although she shows empathy and compassion towards the patients, she is bullied by other nurses for it.

At the start of the show, Nurse Jung is shown as a timid young woman who tries to please everyone around her. But as the show progresses, she begins to learn how to deal with things, especially with her coworkers.

Daily Dose of Sunshine also carefully expands each episode and practices the importance of self-love and mental health.

Yes, Daily Dose of Sunshine is based on a Kakao webtoon written by Lee Ra-ha. The literal translation of its Korean title is Morning Comes to Psychiatric Wards. The webtoon was released in 2017.

Aside from the show being based on a webtoon, it is actually based on real-life events that its creator experienced.

Lee Ra-Ha was a former nurse who worked at a psychiatric clinic. Like the main character in the series, the author moved from the internal medicine department to the psychiatric field.

One of the main differences in the K-Drama, however, is that the main character is called Jung SheeNa instead of Jung Da-Eun.

The webtoon creatively depicts its characters as anthropomorphic animals, except for the lead. This way, the readers get an objective view of the characters without judging them as fellow humans.

The K-Drama doesn't follow this creative angle of the webtoon. Instead, it has put a lot of thought into the visuals of the series by expressing each mental illness in a creative manner.

With Park Bo-Young's innocence and charm, she'll definitely be bringing life to Jung Da-Eun. And we can't wait to see how her character grows in Daily Dose of Sunshine.
