Filming for Daily Dose of Sunshine commenced in July 2022. It was also the same time when the list of cast members was announced.

Months later, it was revealed that production was completed and the material went to post-production. It was then included in Netflix's slate of K-content preview, which was announced in Tudum 2023.

The Kdrama has a total of 12 episodes. At this point, it has not been confirmed whether all episodes will be available to stream right away or have a weekly release.

Daily Dose of Sunshine's cast is led by Park Bo-young, who stars in the show as Jung Da-eun. Bo-young is famous for her roles in Strong Girl Bong-soon, Oh My Ghost, and Doom at Your Service. This is also her second Netflix Original show after Abyss.

Yeon Woo-ji stars as Dong Go-yoon, a proctologist with an unpredictable personality. He previously starred in Thirty-Nine.

Jang Dong-yoon also stars in Daily Dose of Sunshine as Da-eun's best friend, Song Yu-chan. He previously starred in Mr. Sunshine.

Lee Jung-eun also stars as the chief nurse in Da-eun's department named Song Hyo-jin. Like Dong-yoon, she starred in Mr. Sunshine. She was also in Juvenile Justice, Hometown Cha-Cha-Cha, and Hi Bye, Mama!

Daily Dose of Sunshine is directed by Lee Jae-gyu, who also directed All of Us Are Dead. Although Daily Dose of Sunshine is based on a webtoon written by Lee Ra-ha, the Kdrama adaptation was written by Lee Nam gyu, Oh Bo-hyun, and Kim Da-hee.

The show was produced under Film Monster and Kim Jong-Hak Production.

Daily Dose of Sunshine is based on a webtoon with a literal meaning Morning Comes To The Mental Ward. It was written by Lee Ra-ha, who was previously a nurse. The webtoon highlights her real-life experiences in the hospital.

The official logline on Netflix reads:

“Determined to provide a ray of light for those under her care, a young nurse navigates the world of mental health and the diverse stories surrounding it.”

The show follows a nurse called Da-eun, who gets transferred to the Psychiatry Department. It also shows the different patients that Da-eun helps.

Knowing that the webtoon is based on its creator's real experience in her workplace makes it even more exciting and heartwarming. We'll have to follow the show for more stories.
