After the studio revealed its next anime film, CloverWorks continued to show off its upcoming projects. Now, CloverWorks shared a new trailer for the Wind Breaker anime, and it highlights the series’ all-star staff.

The show was initially announced back in March. Soon after, its voice cast members were revealed.

Now, it’s the staff’s turn to get the attention as the new trailer lists the main staff members. On top of this, the trailer also showcased the anime’s colorful yanki cast.

The Wind Breaker anime is based on an ongoing shonen manga of the same name by Satoru Nii. Instead of being a battle shonen with a supernatural or fantasy style, this series is a straight-up yanki action title.

Yanki is often used as a term for the Japanese delinquent archetype. For instance, the likes of Kazuma Kuwabara in Yu Yu Hakusho or Josuke Higashikata in JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure are popular yanki characters.

A more modern example of a yanki anime is the popular Tokyo Revengers. Based on Wind Breaker’s story and characters, fans of Ken Wakui’s work might find this series a must-watch.

As befits its colorful cast of delinquents, the series features the following well-known VAs:

  • Yuma Uchida (Kyo Sohma in Fruits Basket) as Haruka Sakura
  • Koki Uchiyama (Izumi Miyamura in Horimiya) as Kyotaro Sugishita
  • Nobunaga Shimazaki (Shun Kaido in The Disastrous Life of Saiki K.) as Hayato Suo
  • Yuichi Nakamura (Satoru Gojo in Jujutsu Kaisen) as Hajime Umemiya
  • Ryota Suzuki (Yu Ishigami in Kaguya-sama: Love Is War) as Toma Hiragi
  • Shoya Chiba (Kiyotaka Ayanokoji in Classroom of the Elite) as Akihiko Nirei
