What Is the Trapezium Anime Film About?
The story of Trapezium is a decade-long journey of Yu Higashi, a high school student with aspirations of becoming an idol.
In pursuit of her dream, she establishes four guiding principles: refraining from romantic relationships, abstaining from social media, avoiding any unnecessary attention at school, and befriending pretty girls from all directions.
The anime film is based on the novel written by Kazumi Takayama. Kazumi was an original member of the idol group Nogizaka46.
Trapezium previously released a 30-second teaser trailer, giving us a glimpse into the world of Yu Higashi and the struggles she has to go through to become an idol.
Trapezium Anime Film Confirms May Release Date
Aniplex and Flag Pictures have revealed that the anime film adaptation of the novel, Trapezium, is scheduled to debut in Japan on May 10, 2024.
Meanwhile, the studio and production staff are yet to announce the international release date of the Trapezium anime film.
Trapezium Anime Film Cast and Staff
Asaki Yuikawa (Mutsumi “Mu-chan” Sugimoto in Tonari no Yokai-san) is lending her voice to the main character, Yu Higashi.
Two new cast members were announced on March 19. First is Shoya Kimata as Shinji Kudo. Kimata is a member of the idol group J01.
Also part of the cast is Teruyoshi Uchimura who voices Shuichi Itami. Uchimura is known in Japan as one half of the comedy duo Utchan Nanchan.
Meanwhile, here are the main staff members working on bringing Trapezium to the big screen:

Trapezium Theme Song Details
The ending theme of Trapezium is titled Hoi Jishin, which means Direction Itself in English. The song is included in the original novel and composer Masaru is credited for writing the song.
Hina Yomiya, Reina Ueda, and Asaki Yuikawa, who are also part of the film's voice cast, will perform Trapezium's ending theme.
Meanwhile, the anime's main theme song is titled Nanmonai feat. Hoshimachi Suisei, sakuma. This track is performed by Hololive VTuber Hoshimachi Suisei, with production credited to MAISONdes.
The original soundtrack of the Trapezium anime film is scheduled to be released on May 10, 2024, the same day as its premiere.
