After the second season aired last year, it was initially confirmed that Season 3 will be released in 2023. Now though, it was officially announced that Classroom of the Elite Season 3 has been delayed to 2024.
Recently, several notable anime and manga leakers reported that the highly anticipated next season of the school thriller anime will be delayed to Winter 2024.
Now, it's official that Classroom of the Elite has become the next show to be affected by the anime delays that have plagued the year so far.
2023 Has Become the Year of Anime Delays
Anime delays are nothing new as there have been lots of shows that got delayed in previous years. But 2023 may have just set a record when it comes to the number of shows that got delayed or went on a lengthy hiatus.
This all started in the Winter 2023 season. While the season started without many issues, there were several high-profile shows like Nier: Automata Ver1.1a and Ayakashi Triangle that got delayed indefinitely.
Soon, more shows got delayed, with some being pushed by a season or two. These delays were said to be caused by COVID-19 infections.
This made sense given that a wave of COVID infections swept through China in early 2023, which affected many shows. That’s because many anime are made with help from outsourced studios in China.
It seems that this has caused a domino effect, resulting in more upcoming shows getting delayed, with the latest being Classroom of the Elite.

Classroom of the Elite Season 3 Delayed to Winter 2024
Originally, Classroom of the Elite Seasons 2 and 3 were announced in early 2022, and they were scheduled to air in 2022 and 2023, respectively.
While the second season aired without any issues, there has been no update on Season 3 since then. Though now, fans will need to wait a bit longer before the show returns.
Reports from notable anime insiders and leakers mentioned that the third season is now set to premiere in Winter 2024.
Soon after the leaks got reported online, the official Classroom of the Elite Twitter account announced that the next season is indeed delayed.
In the announcement, the delay was said to be caused by "various circumstances", though no specific reason was mentioned.
It was also confirmed that the third season will premiere in January 2024.
Though for now, there's no word yet on when exactly in January it will be released.
But it's expected that the next season will also have a 1-cour length, similar to the second season.
