What Are Cid Kagenou's Powers and Abilities?
Cid Kagenou is skilled in fighting with various weapons as well as hand-to-hand martial arts. He possesses superior intelligence with a knack for nuclear magic and various other abilities.
Following his death in modern-day Japan, Cid was reincarnated into a family that produced a long line of sword masters, so he started training from a young age.
Of course, he doesn't limit himself to fighting with weapons only. Cid is also skilled in hand-to-hand combat.
Martial arts are not much of a priority in the new world Cid has found himself in.
Since he trained in kendo, wrestling, boxing, and karate in his previous life, though, he retains his knowledge and continues training, which gives him an advantage.
His most notorious power, of course, is his nuclear magic, which he mastered through a lot of research and training.
While channeling his technique, Cid says "I...Am...Atomic," which is a bit of a running gag throughout the anime, although most of us would agree that playing with nuclear energy is not funny.
This is a power that Cid often uses to overwhelm the most difficult opponents.
Cid's high intelligence makes his physical and magical powers easier to cultivate.
He has an analytical mind and can think fast in battle. He's also a rigorous researcher who will learn as much as possible about anything he doesn't have a natural talent for.
Of course, he's below average in some regards, including emotional intelligence.
Some of his 'softer' powers and abilities include music, a talent for card games, and uncanny luck. The latter is helpful when he tries to execute risky plans.

Why Is Cid So Strong?
Cid's strength can be partly explained by his sheer determination to become the master of shadows and the rigorous training program he adheres to to achieve his goal.
In his previous life as Minoru Kagenou, Cid did not possess magical or superhuman powers to the same extent, but he trained in a variety of martial arts.
Being reincarnated into a magical world with his memories intact gave him a head start.
Natural talent and OP isekai tropes do have something to do with it, as two lives aren't enough to master all these skills, but, at least, The Eminence in Shadow shows that its protagonist worked hard to become so powerful.
That being said, those who aren't fans of the genre will rightfully think that such a vast range of strengths is highly unlikely, and it lowers the stakes.
Isekai with an overpowered main character is its own subgenre, and most people will love it or hate it, with few in-betweens. Either way, such an OP protagonist is hard to explain logically.
