Chris Pratt Says Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 Could Take Place Before Infinity War

The Russo Brothers have been casting some doubt on future Marvel sequels, claiming that they could be set in the past since some of these characters were killed in Avengers: Infinity War. It seems like Star-Lord actor Chris Pratt is joining in on the fun and is claiming that Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 could be set before Infinity War.

Pratt was in full joke mode while speaking with MTV, claiming that Blue Man Group will replace all of the current Guardians members. When the interviewer pushed for more serious questions regarding the MCU and how Star-Lord will mourn for Gamora, Pratt said that might not happen since Guardians Vol. 3 could be a prequel.

Admittedly, this feels like a cheap way to get fans thinking that none of the characters who were turned to ash will be coming back. While it would be cool to see Miles Morales in Spider-Man: Homecoming 2 or the original Yondu in Guardians Vol. 3, we all know that isn't happening any time soon.

Still, you have to admire the effort to keep things secret. Plus, if they're right it would be a huge surprise to viewers. They aren't of course but it's nice to dream.

Avengers 4 is slated for a May 3, 2019 release. Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 has no release date but should be shooting soon.
