Chris Pine Says Steve Trevor Will Not Return In Wonder Woman 3

Fans were recently delighted when Patty Jenkins confirmed that she already has plans for Wonder Woman 3. But what are the chances that Steve Trevor will once again return for the third installment of the DC Extended Universe franchise? Chris Pine says it's not happening.

Pine and Jenkins were recently in attendance at the I Am The Night premiere in Los Angeles. When Entertainment Tonight asked if he would be eager to reprise his role as Steve after Wonder Woman 1984, Pine bluntly stated that his character isn't coming back.

"I think Steve's done," Pine said. "I think Steve's done his bit."

He might not be returning for Wonder Woman 3 but Pine still hopes that Jenkins and co-star Gal Gadot will have another smash hit in their hands. "I wish them all the luck in the world," Pine said.

So could this mean that something will happen to Steve yet again in Wonder Woman 1984? The character has already been killed off in the first film but has somehow been brought back in the sequel. Although it's too soon to tell, there is a possibility that Steve will be saying goodbye for good next year.

Jenkins had previously confirmed that she is pushing for a third Wonder Woman film. "I have pretty clear plans for Wonder Woman 3… Whether I [direct] it or not, I see how her arc should end in my incarnation of Wonder Woman. I have great passion for that," the director said.

Wonder Woman 1984 is scheduled for release on June 5, 2020.
