Chris Evans Responds to MIT Prank Which Put Captain America's Shield on their Great Dome

[SPOILERS FOR AVENGERS: ENDGAME]

Avengers: Endgame is finally out in cinemas, and the whole world has come out to celebrate the end of an era for the MCU. Some pranksters at MIT apparently transformed their school's Great Dome into Captain America's shield, and they got the attention of Steve Rogers himself.

Chris Evans shared on his Twitter:

While I'm not sure that Captain America would approve of vandalism, I guess it's a neat enough nod to the character, especially with Evans officially bowing out of the MCU. While I'm holding out for him to make some cameos in the future, I guess we're never really going to get the same Captain America that we got from the MCU since The First Avenger.

As for his legacy, I guess that's going to be up to Anthony Mackie and Sebastian Stan. We know that Captain America gave his shield to Sam Wilson, but I guess he's yet to earn that title yet. Hopefully everything is properly set up with Disney+'s upcoming miniseries Falcon and the Winter Soldier. For now though, I guess it's best we watch Captain America's last hurrah with Avengers: Endgame.

Adrift in space with no food or water, Tony Stark sends a message to Pepper Potts as his oxygen supply starts to dwindle. Meanwhile, the remaining Avengers -- Thor, Black Widow, Captain America and Bruce Banner -- must figure out a way to bring back their vanquished allies for an epic showdown with Thanos -- the evil demigod who decimated the planet and the universe.

Avengers: Endgame is now out in theaters.
