Avengers Endgame: There's a Hidden Meaning Behind the Sandwich Scene with Black Widow

Avengers: Endgame has a small scene with Black Widow and Captain America having an exchange where Widow threatens to throw a sandwich at Cap. While this can be taken as just a small, light scene between the characters, /Film has gone to analyze that there is actually a hidden BTS meaning to the scene.

According to the site, the book The Big Picture: The Fight for the Future of Movies by Ben Fritz details an exchange between Sony's Amy Pascal and Marvel Studios' Kevin Feige where Pascal had thrown her sandwich at Feige during a meeting. The book reads:

At a lunch on a patio outside [Amy Pascal's] office, in the summer after The Amazing Spider-Man 2, [Kevin Feige] pitched his fellow creative executive on the benefits of having Marvel Studios produce the next film, so that Peter Parker could join the same cinematic universe as Iron Man, Captain America, and Thor. "I love Spider-Man and I want to help," he told her.

Pascal was so offended, she threw her sandwich at Feige and told him, playfully but truthfully, to "get the fuck out of here." Turning the character over would be an insult, she felt, not just to her but to the entire studio.

Of course, there wasn't any confirmation that the scene was referencing this moment between Pascal and Feige, but counting that it had something to do with one of the best deals that Marvel and Sony have ever made, who's to say that it wasn't making that nod?

For now, everyone is going through the weekend with Avengers: Endgame then the Battle of Winterfell taking place on Game of Thrones. Personally, Endgame won the top spot for me, but I guess it deserves that win since it's been building up this finale since 2008. GoT is short three years.
