Chainsaw Man’s creator may be busy with the manga, but that hasn’t stopped him from showing support for an upcoming anime. On his personal X account, Chainsaw Man’s Tatsuki Fujimoto posted a funny recommendation for Spy x Family.

It’s funny as he did it in the most Fujimoto way possible; through a food post. That’s because Fujimoto often shares his latest convenience store recommendations on his account.

This support also makes sense as series creator Tatsuya Endo has a surprising connection to Fujimoto.

Chainsaw Man and Spy x Family may be both Shonen Jump+ titles that are edited by Shihei Lin, but they couldn’t be farther apart story-wise.

Fujimoto’s work is violent and darkly funny at times while Spy x Family is a more wholesome series that has something for everyone. Despite being opposites, the two manga’s creators have worked together before.

Before Endo released Spy x Family, he worked as an assistant to a wide range of manga. Among these is Fujimoto’s first serialized work, Fire Punch.

It may not be apparent given how his latest work is a mostly fun and wholesome series, but Endo’s previous works were quite dark. Thus, it made sense that he was able to assist Fujimoto in his dark first series.

Endo wasn’t the only notable Fujimoto assistant though. Also working on Fire Punch was Yuji Kaku, the creator of Hell’s Paradise: Jigokuraku, as well as Dandadan author Yukinobu Tatsu.

Now, Fujimoto is promoting Spy x Family through his X account as one of his newest posts is an image of Anya peanut crunch snacks.

This might seem like just another one of Fujimoto’s food posts, but this is a bit different as he shared an image of the packaging. He normally never posts images of the food he recommends.

Thus, this can be seen as a promotion for Spy x Family — just in time given that the anime’s second season will premiere very soon.

Along with the next season, fans can also look forward to the Code: White movie, which will be released later this year.

As for Chainsaw Man, the next chapter will be released in two weeks, so fans will need to wait a bit longer than usual.
