Captain America: Civil War Almost Had Ant-Man and The Wasp in Team Iron Man

Captain America: Civil War was one of the most anticipated MCU releases and it's safe to say that it lived up to the hype, maybe even exceeded it for some. The movie managed to pay respects to the source material it was based on, while also telling a more personal story with Steve Rogers, Bucky Barnes, and Tony Stark. Of course, most of us remember the incredible airport scene, which had fans up in arms and arguing over being in Team Cap or Team Iron Man.

For the most part, the choices over who was in Team Cap and Team Iron Man made a ton of sense. However, as can be seen in the production art below, it looks like there was a plenty of shuffling done behind the scenes before members of each team were chosen. Turns out that Marvel Studios considered putting Ant-Man and The Wasp in Iron Man's team.

We all know that Wasp was meant to debut in this movie but the idea was soon scrapped so that she could be premiere in her own movie. In the end, they had Ant-Man be a part of Team Cap and we can all agree that it was the right decision since it led to some really fun scenes.

To this day, the movie still has some large repercussions for the MCU since Steve and the others were still in hiding during Avengers: Infinity War. Things seem to have cooled down for now but Steve and Tony have yet to meet face to face, which is going to be very interesting since they will have to confront each other in Avengers 4.

Captain America: Civil War is now available in Blu-Ray, DVD, and digital services. Avengers 4 comes out on May 3, 2019.
