Captain America and Black Widow Will Have A Much Bigger Role To Play in Avengers 4

Several characters in Avengers: Infinity War are expected to have more screentime in Avengers 4, and there are some characters like Captain Marvel, Ant-Man, The Wasp, and Hawkeye, who never showed up in the third Avengers film, are expected to appear in the next one. Now, screenwriters Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely confirmed that Captain America (Chris Evans) and Black Widow (Scarlet Johansson) will have significant roles in the Avengers 4's story.

Speaking to The New York Times, Markus confirmed that the two superheroes will play a much bigger role in the upcoming conclusion of Infinity War:

"We're never writing without knowing where the end goes. they have a much bigger role to play in that second film."

McFeely added:

"We gave ourselves license to pay off later."

It sounds like the writing duo have character arcs planned for Captain America and Black Widow but we still have no idea what they are. While there are dozens of theories on how the surviving superheroes could defeat Thanos and bring back those he obliterated, Marvel Studios hasn't shared a lot of details about the film.

Here's the vague summary of Avengers 4:

"A culmination of 22 interconnected films the fourth installment of theAvengerssaga will draw audiences to witness the turning point of this epic journey. Our beloved heroes will truly understand how fragile this reality is and the sacrifices that must be made to uphold it."

Avengers 4 is set to release in theaters on May 3, 2019.
