Buffy the Vampire Slayer was released in 1997 and ran for seven seasons. Because of its success, showrunner Joss Whedon decided to create a spin-off show called Angel. This series came out in 1999 and had a total of five seasons.
Since there was a time when episodes of the two shows came out simultaneously, they are actually connected. This is why if you're planning to binge on this supernatural drama, you can follow this Buffy Angel watch order.
Are Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Angel Connected?
Although Angel's (played by David Boreanaz) adventures were different from Buffy's (played by Sarah Michelle Gellar), it's hard not to connect them both. After all, the two very much started as a pair in the early seasons of Buffy the Vampire Slayer.
Not to mention, the two shows aired back-to-back on The WB on Tuesdays with Buffy taking the lead at 8 pm and Angel following by 9 pm. This led to some of their stories carrying over across episodes.
It was exciting for viewers to find Buffy making a phone call to Angel and the spinoff show would pick up on that episode via Angel's point-of-view. Unfortunately, this also meant some complications with the Buffy Angel watch order.
