Peter Dinklage in Avengers: Infinity War was a pleasant surprise for any Game of Thrones fan watching the movie, and it was certainly a change to have him as the giant character for once. A cool BTS picture of Dinklage has come out online, and it shows us before they turned him into the giant weapon-forging dwarf.

VFX supervisor Greg Steele also had this to say about bringing the character to life (via Art of VFX):
"A section of the forge surrounded by a massive blues creen was built to shoot as many of the Thor, Rocket and Groot plates as possible… It also allowed the staging of Eitri and Thor's interactions. For those shots, because of time challenges with the talent, the directors were willing to restrict themselves to nodal camera moves, which would allow us to quickly move through fairly simple forced perspective setups of the A and B sides of the shot."
A bit more background on Eitri, he's actually considered the "King of Dwarves" and was the ruler of Nidavellir before Thanos came along. We don't know if the Dwarves will be restored after Thanos is defeated, but I have a feeling some people may want to find out what happens to Eitri after everything in Avengers 4.
Though a lot of people were expecting Dinklage to play his actual size in the movie, it was kind of a surprise that he would play a giant version of a dwarf. I'm just curious if Eitri is the only one his size or if all the other slain dwarves were just as huge as he was.
Avengers: Infinity War is still out in theaters.
