Borderlands 3 Release Date Possibly Leaked, Is This an April Fool's Joke?

Borderlands 3 was finally revealed last week and it is a beautiful-looking game, though fans were a bit bummed that a release date wasn't shown. GearBox did say that some big news for the game would be coming on April 3 but it looks like that won't be necessary since a potential leak might have shown us when its release would be.

According to a now-deleted Tweet that was archived by fans, we will be getting the shooter on September 13. Those that are thinking that this is an April Fool's joke are proven wrong now that we have pictures of the official Borderlands account tweeting this out. This will probably be confirmed when the April 3 event is in motion.

While this kind of sucks for GearBox and 2K, fans already felt that Borderlands 3 was leaked when numerous reports basically told us that the game was coming months ago. In a way, it's kind of appropriate and when you consider all of the fans who appeared in that cringe-inducing PAX East event, the game will sell well no matter what.

GearBox and 2K have yet to confirm if Borderlands 3 will be coming out on September 13.
