Blockbuster Giants Collide in October's Black Panther vs Deadpool

What happens when Marvel's highest rated solo film takes on 21st Century Fox's second R-rated hit? A comic book that pits the two characters against each other apparently. Marvel has announced Black Panther vs Deadpool, which is set to debut this October and get the attention of many comic book fans.

Announced by Adventures in Poor Taste, the series will be written by The Late Show with Stephen Colbert writer Daniel Kibblesmith with Richard Lopez Ortiz providing interior art. This isn't Kibblesmith's first work for Marvel, as the writer also helmed the recent Lockjaw mini-series that also featured D-Man.

The premise for this five-issue mini has Deadpool stealing some Vibranium from Wakanda for unrevealed reasons. This obviously leads to conflict with T'Challa, who plans to take down Wade himself.

Deadpool has starred in a number of these VS comics, though they're also from different writers and artists. He's taken on Carnage, Old Man Logan, Hawkeye, Gambit, and The Punisher, just to name a few. It will be interesting to see how this series stack up to the previous VS comics, though it should continue the character's paperback selling streak once it becomes a graphic novel.

Black Panther vs Deadpool #1 hits comic book shelves this October.
