Black Panther Producer Reveals One Wakanda Forever Scene That Got a Standing Ovation From the Crew

There is little doubt that Black Panther: Wakanda Forever was an amazing movie that could end up being the first Marvel Cinematic Universe film to win a major Oscar. So it's no surprise that one scene, in particular, got the approval of the entire crew who gave the actors a standing ovation as soon as the director yelled, "Cut!"

Danai Gurira reprised her role as Okoye in Black Panther: Wakanda Forever where things changed from bad to worst for the character. Despite being assigned to protect Shuri, the princess goes with Namor and Okoye thinks Shuri has been abducted. It's a huge blow to Okoye who had to face Queen Ramonda with the news and the scene was understandably emotional as Ramonda channels her rage and grief into the moment.

If you were moved by the scene, you're not the only one. Producer Nate Moore told The Hollywood Reporter that the crew is the best test audience for the moment (via Screenrant).

“When the crew feels really invested, you get a little comfort, because these are all people who watch movies too. They’re your beta test even before a test screening…” Moore said. He then continued by confirming that the crew was moved by that scene.

“There’s an amazing scene in the film where Queen Ramonda fires Danai Gurira’s Okoye. And I’ve been around lot of crews, and they’re somewhat inured to great performances because they get to see them so often,” Moore said. “But it was a standing ovation. Because in the room you felt the energy, and the crew goes 'Oh, there’s something special about this one…'”

It was certainly an amazing scene and one that could land Angela Bassett a major award for Black Panther: Wakanda Forever. With that in mind, we're all looking forward to all the awards that Bassett will get for her performance.
