Black Mirror Star Cast as US Agent for Marvel's Falcon and Winter Soldier

The Falcon and The Winter Soldier has to be one of Marvel's most anticipated Disney+ series coming out. After all, it will deal with the legacy of Captain America and follow through some of the events from Captain America: Civil War. It seems like the Captain America ties in this series are going to be fairly strong since D23 confirmed that U.S. Agent will be appearing and will be played by Black Mirror Wyatt Russell.

It's an interesting move and adds some credibility to previous reports about the show's story revolving around the U.S. government not wanting Sam Wilson to hold the shield. Since they don't want Wilson as Captain America, or, more likely, he refuses to play by their terms, there's a good chance that they'll plan on making their own superhero hence the birth of the U.S. Agent.

Fans who read Mark Gruwenwald's historic Captain America run knows that U.S. Agent was a byproduct of Steve Rogers not wanting to serve the U.S. government anymore. They soon recruited John Walker, a more conservative superhero who's willing to put his trust in the government, to be the "new" Captain America. After a series of events, Steve would become Captain America again while Walker took Steve's costume when he was The Captain and rebrand himself as U.S. Agent.

Bringing in U.S. Agent can only mean good things for the series since it adds more conflict to Falcon's story, who just wants to live up to Steve's legacy. Seeing someone like Walker get the government's blessing, as well as a similar costume, should stir up a fire in Sam. How Bucky plays into this will also be interesting, though he'll probably want revenge on Zemo.

The Falcon and The Winter Soldier comes to Disney+ in 2020.
