Marvel's Moon Girl and Devil Dinosaur are Getting a Disney Channel Show Next Year

Marvel television has gained quite the spotlight recently, thanks to the announcements of Moon Knight, Ms. Marvel, and She-Hulk coming to the Disney+ streaming service. However, there are more shows coming and not all of them are coming to Disney's new streaming service. During D23, it was announced that a Moon Girl and Devil Dinosaur series would be coming to the Disney Channel sometime next year.

The two characters gained some prominence when their ongoing comic book series of the same name was released back in 2016. While the comic seems to be ending with issue 47, renewed interest via the Disney Channel series could lead to a shiny new #1 getting announced and released before the new show. Hopefully, it's of quality and gets a lot of fans.

While Moon Girl is a new character who got Inhuman powers from the Terrigen mist, Devil Dinosaur is actually an old Jack Kirby creation that had its own series back in the day. Since arriving in the present, Devil Dinosaur has been teaming with Moon Girl in various adventures. They even have an odd link to each other that allows Moon Girl to switch bodies with Devil Dinosaur.

Personally, I think it's pretty cool seeing these new characters get a show aimed at younger audiences. While a few adult jokes would be cool, people tend to forget that comics are also aimed at children so this should be a good start at that message being taken more seriously.

Moon Girl and Devil Dinosaur doesn't have a release date yet but will air on Disney Channel sometime in 2020.
