Ben Affleck is set to play Batman one last time in the upcoming DCEU film The Flash. While he won't have a large screen time, his appearance serves as his sendoff to the role as Michael Keaton's version of the character will take over during the majority of the film's story.
Aside from the Oscar winner, there are also reports going around that Affleck's Justice League co-star Gal Gadot will also make an appearance in the film as Wonder Woman following her recent cameo in Shazam! Fury of the Gods. While DC has not officially confirmed it, an action figure line for the film has already spoiled her rumored involvement.
Now, it looks like we have the confirmation of Gadot's appearance in The Flash as Affleck spilled some major details about their scene during an interview in the Smartless podcast (via The Direct).
First, the actor discussed how he finally figured out playing the Caped Crusader during the filming of The Flash unlike in the past DCEU projects.
"I finally figured out how to play the guy… I was like, 'Hold on, am I– Is that– I quit, I know I quit, and I know came back, but I got it now.' It’s like, you know when you do the audition, and you’re on your way home, you’re like, 'Ooh,'" he said.
Affleck went on to spoil a key scene that happened in the film that involves him and Gadot's Wonder Woman where she saved him during an action sequence and how the Lasso of Truth divulged the Caped Crusader's "real feelings" about being the hero.
"I mean, I don’t wanna give a spoiler, but it was a scene where I get caught, I get saved by Wonder Woman during a conflagration with some bad guys. And she saves me by– I mean, I’m sure the spoiler, DC assassins are gonna get me, but…," the Oscar winner continued.
"She saves me with the Lasso of Truth. And so what happens is that Batman divulges some of his real feelings about his life and his work... I was like, 'Wait a minute, I got it!'"
With Affleck's major reveal in the interview, we now have the definitive confirmation that Gadot shows up in the upcoming DCEU film which has already been speculated for months prior to this. It sounds like her involvement is part of a key moment in the film as she gets to reunite with her Justice League co-star.
This also comes as Gadot made her appearance recently in Shazam! Fury of the Gods which highlighted how she was a bigger presence in the DCEU franchise than ever before. However, with the incoming changes in the new DCU franchise under James Gunn and Peter Safran, her future became uncertain and it remains to be seen whether she will officially be part of the duo's plan.
