It's awesome when actors are ready to do their own stunts in films and TV shows. But what happens when something goes wrong? In Ruby Rose's case, she had to undergo emergency surgery to avoid being paralyzed. Amazingly, the Batwoman star has shared the shocking video of her neck surgery.
Rose posted the video on her official Instagram account. It reveals why the Orange is the New Black actress has a strange new scar on her neck in a truly stunning video. Be warned, this isn't for the squeamish.
"Well that was fun," Rose wrote. "To everyone asking about my new Pez dispenser scar on my neck... A couple of months ago I was told I needed an emergency surgery or I was risking becoming paralyzed... I had herniated two discs doing stunts, and they were close to severing my spinal chord. I was in chronic pain and yet couldn't feel my arms... Thank you Dr Bray for everything you did and for allowing me to keep working and doing what I love. I am forever in your debt. And to anyone asking why I let them video it.. Did you not watch that Greys anatomy episode where they left a towel in a patient?? Also I wanted to see what happens when we go under."
It's a little TMI, to be sure, but also an eye-opening (and neck-opening, heh) video for those who have always been curious about what happens in surgery. We're hoping that Rose is recuperating well and will be ready for action in her upcoming CW series.
Batwoman premieres on The CW on October 6 and Rose will join the highly anticipated Arrowverse crossover event Crisis on Infinite Earths which kicks off on October 8.
