I think we can all agree that it's hard to imagine Wolverine being played by any actor other than Hugh Jackman and while he wasn't exactly the most accurate live-action representation of the character, his portrayal of the iconic Marvel hero makes up for it. Some of you may be surprised by this but there was a time when the Australian actor wasn't even part of the entire X-Men conversation.

Most of you are probably not aware of it but acting legend Danny DeVito was once considered for the role and if you'll look at this size alone, it's enough to convince any Marvel fan that he would fare quite well as Logan. Sadly, it never happened but surprisingly enough, DeVito's name is still a popular choice amongst fans.

Now, with the X-Men reboot confirmed to be in development over at Marvel Studios, MCU fanatics are eagerly awaiting the casting announcements Kevin Feige and his crew have in store. But what if DeVito actually becomes the claw-slashing, cigar-smoking mutant outlaw?

Legendary comic book artist Alex Ross recently unveiled his take on the Batman Returns star as the MCU's version of Logan and it's pretty darn interesting, to say the least. Check it out here:

Obviously, DeVito's chances of ever becoming Wolverine have gone slimmer than ever because of his age. And even if we factor in today's de-aging technology, the safest route for Marvel is to cast a younger actor to play the character. While I'm a huge fan of what Jackman brought to the table, I gotta say, I hope the studio casts someone who actually fits the bill in terms of Logan's comic book appearance.

No release date has been announced for Marvel Studios' X-Men reboot.
