Avengers: The Kang Dynasty Reportedly Loses Its Writer

In just a couple of years, Avengers: The Kang Dynasty is set to arrive in theaters and it is set to be the first part of a culmination of events that are being set up at the ongoing Multiverse Saga with Kang the Conqueror as the main baddie.

So far, the details on the film remain scarce as it is still in early development and there have been rumors as well that Marvel Studios will be changing its release plans on its future projects which may lead to its delay.

There is also the fact that Jonathan Majors' future in the franchise is currently in limbo due to his recent legal issue and Marvel Studios has still not made any decision on whether they are keeping him in the role of Kang the Conqueror.

Now, it looks like the highly-anticipated project has hit a significant setback as reporter Jeff Sneider revealed in The Hot Mic podcast that Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania writer Jeff Loveness will no longer pen the screenplay for Avengers: The Kang Dynasty.

Sneider explained that Loveness left the project prior to the current Writers Guild of America (WGA) strike and no replacement has been named yet to take over the writing duty for the film.

There is no reason stated regarding why Loveness exited the project. Marvel Studios has also not commented yet on the report.

Given that writers are currently not allowed to do any work or get hired by the studio while the strike is happening, it might take a while before Marvel Studios will be able to hire a new writer for the film.

Destin Daniel Cretton, who helmed Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings, is still involved as the director of the film. Majors, who is still part of the franchise as of this moment, is attached to star in the film as Kang.

A lot of fans speculated that the underwhelming reception of Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania may have been the reason why Loveness exited the project and, obviously, The Kang Dynasty is more pivotal to the future of the MCU and has high expectations on its quality.

We've also seen a trend recently where Marvel Studios is starting to hire high-profile writers to rewrite the script for the upcoming films that have not begun production and this could be yet again an example of that.

For now, let's wait for more news and updates about the development of the film and we might learn about the replacement sometime after the WGA strike ends.
