Avengers Endgame will have Multiple References to Previous Films

Avengers: Infinity War is set to cap-off over 10 years of Marvel movies, and what's interesting is, though past movies have been episodic in nature, this movie will have several callbacks to what's come before.

According to That Hashtag Show's Charles Murphy, there will be references to moments dating all the way back to Phase 1. He posts:

Stark and Nebula scene is a straight callback to Iron Man. Get used to that. This movie will call back to many films and pay off some things that were set up years ago. Russos' masterpiece.

If you've been following the MCU since 2008, you'll know that Tony had to spend time imprisoned in a cave where he ended up inventing his first Iron Man suit. We don't know what he's building with Nebula here, but I'm guessing it will happen before Tony ends up stranded and hopeless as we see him in the first teaser.

There has also been news of other past characters making appearances in this film. There have been mentions of the Ancient One (Tilda Swinton) making a comeback. Set photos have also revealed actors in their suits from the first Avengers movie.

Whatever the Avengers have planned to reverse what Thanos did, I'm hoping that the Russo Brothers manage to bring us something completely unexpected. I'd hate it if all the predictions online end up coming true. I thought that level of surprise was what made Star Wars: The Last Jedi so enjoyable. I'm crossing my fingers that the Russos manage to bring that same energy with this movie.

Catch Avengers: Endgame in theaters April 26.
