Fans caught up with Chris Hemsworth's Thor in Avengers: Endgame in a pretty depressed state. The God of Thunder has gained weight and was always drunk, not willing to fight anymore because he thinks he fails all the time. While the movie has already enough scenes to show just how depraved the hero was, as it turns out, the directors almost took it a bit further.

During the Avengers: Endgame quarantine watch party, directors Joe and Anthony Russo have been sharing some more details about early plans and cut scenes from the movie, one of which is is where Thor pees off a balcony in New Asgard.

The directors said this was meant to show "how depraved" Thor was. However, they realized that the God of Thunder "was already pretty depraved." You can check out the tweet below.

Fat Thor became a controversial part of the movie, with fans claiming that the character being fat-shamed was added for comedic relief. The hero has gone through a lot, with the loss of his loved ones and not only fighting Thanos but also fighting his own demons. While the film is applauded for highlighting mental illness, some fans felt other things about the character could have been handled more sensitively. So not adding this scene could have been the best choice for the filmmakers to do.

As seen in the film, Thor has gone back on his feet with the help of his friends, Rocket and Hulk. He also successfully defeated the Mad Titan along with the Avengers.

Avengers: Endgame is available to stream on Disney+.
