Marvel Directors Suggest Cinemas to Screen Avengers Movies After COVID-19

The entertainment industry might have taken quite a blow from the COVID-19 pandemic, however, Avengers: Endgame and Avengers: Infinity War director Joe Russo believes that Marvel's major Avengers comic book movie event could help cinemas post-quarantine.

Speaking in an interview with Cinema Blend on Sunday, Russo decided to open up about the novel coronavirus pandemic. According to the director, he and his co-director brother Anthony Russo would be more than glad to see their Avengers movies return to theaters after the COVID-19 quarantine, giving cinemas the revenue that they need after the lockdown.

"The theatrical experience is a community experience," Joe Russo said. "Perhaps the most touching moment of our entire careers was a few weeks ago when the lockdown started, and Endgame was trending on social media because everyone was posting videos of opening-night screenings in their theaters with audiences really emotionally connected to the material. For us, that's really the strength of the theatrical experience is that it combines audiences, and it combines you globally."

The entertainment industry has certainly suffered from the COVID-19 crisis. Not only have studios been forced to shut down the production of highly anticipated television and film projects, but they've also been forced to delay the release of major blockbuster movies like Mulan, Black Widow, No Time to Die, Wonder Woman, and so many others now that cinemas have been forced to close to prevent the spread of the coronavirus.

We're not entirely sure when the pandemic will come to an end, however, the Russos suggestion of bringing back Infinity War and Endgame to cinemas could be a great way to give the industry a financial boost after the crisis.

Avengers: Endgame and Infinity War are available on Digital HD, Blu-Ray, and DVD.
