Avengers #8 Appoints a New Leader For the Group

The latest incarnation of Marvel's Avengers is a fairly interesting one, as every member of the group has been here before aside from new Ghost Rider Robbie Reyes. A team comprised of Captain America, Thor, Iron Man, Black Panther, Captain Marvel, She-Hulk, and the aforementioned Ghost Rider is the definition of a powerhouse team, so anyone except Reyes can lead them.

With that in mind, fans will be intrigued to know that the group has voted Black Panther as their leader. T'Challa already rules Wakanda so this isn't exactly something he isn't cut out for.

He is honored to have this responsibility but wonders if they voted right since countries would get suspicious of Earth's Mightiest Heroes taking orders from the King of Wakanda. Steve, Tony, and Thor know it won't be a popular decision but they do trust T'Challa to lead the team with pride so we can expect some fun adventures.

Normally, someone like Steve, Tony, or Thor would take the lead role of the group. While T'Challa has been a member of the Avengers many times before, he was always content with being a regular member of the group. He's now calling the shots, so expect some conflict to rise from there.

It hasn't been easy for this group of Avengers. Their first adventure had them take on Celestials, some of the most powerful beings in the universe. Seeing them have some downtime is quite nice and is probably why they were able to choose T'Challa as the leader in such a calm and friendly manner, minus a few quips. They also had to take down Loki, who was the group's first-ever foe so they have been busy.
