It looks like DC really meant it when the company declared their Black Label line as a "mature." This line gives creators plenty of freedom to do whatever they want with DC's heroes. Brian Azzarello and Lee Bermejo decided to test their luck with this week's Batman: Damned #1, which is actually the first title in the Black Label line unless you count Batman: White Knight.
So how far do they push the envelope? Very far as it turns out. If you've ever wanted to see Bruce Wayne's "private area," Batman: Damned #1 gives you a front-row view of it.

We don't know why Azzarello or Bermejo would want to show Batman's junk, but for those that have always wanted to see it; there you go. If you want to show your friends a nude Batman, this is pretty much the best image you can show them that isn't from Deviantart.

For the sake of context, Damned has put Bruce in a position he isn't used to and we don't mean the nudity. Waking up in John Constantine's apartment after being stabbed multiple times, Bruce suddenly has no wounds whatsoever and his arch-nemesis, The Joker, has been killed. It's clear that Bruce isn't well so stripping naked to change into his costume isn't a big deal when compared to all of this.
Batman Damned is a bi-monthly series, so fans will have to wait two months before the second issue answers some of their questions. Whether it will have more nudity or not isn't known but this should please fans who have wanted the company to push their boundaries. So, when are we getting Nightwing: Damned?
Fans can pick up Batman: Damned in comic book stores now. This is a giant-sized comic book and will only be three issues, so the wait could be worth it.
