Aquaman: Black Manta Actor Says Aqualad Won't Be Appearing

Aquaman is coming out in December and the trailer revealed during SDCC tickled the fancy of many fans. The movie looks to be the perfect introduction to the character and has a number of the hero's supporting cast, including Mera, Ocean Master, and Black Manta. For some reasons, fans also want to see Aqualad in the movie, who Black Manta actor Yahya Abdul-Mateen II said will not be in it.

Seemingly channeling the villain he will be playing as Abdul-Mateen II has seemingly taken joy in telling fans that the character's son will not appear in the movie. This is perfectly fine since it would be way too early to introduce this character, though a sequel could always open the way towards that.

It's easy to see why fans would want to see Aqualad in the movie, given how popular he is in Young Justice. First introduced during Brightest Day, he was mostly ignored during the New 52 but was brought back in Rebirth. The comics have also made him gay, making him one of the more prominent LGBT characters in DC. He might not be as popular as Batwoman but there is room for his character and fans.

Aquaman will hit theaters on December 21, so fans will be able to check this out during Christmas break.
