Aquaman Beats Venom and Solo at Domestic Box Office

Aquaman continues to blow it out of the water as the most recent DCEU film continues to make a ton of money. It already outperformed a number of other successful DC movies like The Dark Knight but it has now beaten other worthwhile movies. According to a report from Forbes, the film has now made more money than Venom and Solo: A Star Wars Story, with Mission Impossible - Fallout next in its sights.

This is great news for DC and Warner Bros, proving that there is still money in these characters. Making $216 million is pretty darn great and the fact that it can still make more money is going to impress executives more, which could lead to a sequel or two. If Shazam can make this much money or more, we're guaranteed more DC movies in this cinematic universe.

Venom has been a huge moneymaker for Sony so the fact that Aquaman made more money then it domestically is pretty impressive. Solo: A Star Wars Story is the worst-performing Star Wars film in the franchise but is still a moderately successful movie in its own right. Disney just expects more from the series they invested billions of dollars in.

It won't be long before Aquaman beats Man of Steel, which is still the king of DC's domestic box office, making over $290 million. Then again, the tides of change could rule in Superman's favor but we'll just have to wait and see.

Aquaman is now showing in theaters.
