Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom marks the end of an era for the DC Extended Universe as we know it. But despite efforts to give the DCEU a proper send-off, the ongoing drama surrounding it and the forthcoming reboot led by James Gunn and Peter Safran has undoubtedly affected the divisive franchise.

Earlier this month, reports emerged that the production of Aquaman 2, much like the most recent DCEU flicks was also plagued with several behind-the-scenes issues that involved lead stars Jason Momoa and Amber Heard.

Naturally, it came as a shock to many, especially considering Momoa and Heard have displayed tremendous chemistry in the past. Some rumors even suggested that the actor fought hard to keep Amber in the film amidst her personal controversies.

Now, director James Wan is breaking his silence on the bombshell rumor that rocked the Seven Seas.

Speaking with Empire Magazine, Wan denied the malicious reports claiming there was drama behind the scenes of the Aquaman sequel. According to the famed horror filmmaker, all the negative rumors surrounding the film's production are just baseless noise.

He said: "I've had to learn to be more Zen in dealing with all the noise around me, for sure. I'm a pretty private person. I don't get on social media and have fights, but it's difficult because this narrative has emerged that is not the reality. The noise is fun to write about, and it gets clicks, but people don't know the truth."

Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom is hitting the big screen on December 20th.
