Ant-Man Star Michael Peña on Whether or Not He’s Appearing in the Third Movie

Marvel might not have made any announcements just yet, but Ant-Man and the Wasp star Micheal Peña is hoping that he'll get the chance to reprise his role as Luis in the next Ant-Man movie, a project which the actor believes will begin filming next year.

Making the press rounds for the upcoming Blumhouse movie Fantasy Island, Peña got to speak with Coming Soon about his work in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. There, the actor was asked whether or not he'd get the chance to appear in the next Marvel movie. While Peña seems eager to return to the MCU, the actor isn't that sure whether or not he'd be around for the next Marvel comic book movie.

"For the last one, I didn't really know what capacity I was going to come back in or if I was going to come back. I think they're a year away from filming, I think it would be great if I could do a third one. But you never know, especially with all the stuff that happened in Endgame," the actor told the entertainment news outlet, "Right now, Marvel's in a situation where they can crush some expectations, they're gonna have to crush some expectations of other characters, not just mine, so hopefully I make the cut.."

Though we can't be entirely sure whether or not Luis is going to appear in Ant-Man 3, we would find it a bit surprising for the third Ant-Man movie to go on without Scott Lang's (Paul Rudd) buddy. Now that Luis has X-Con Security Consultants, Scott Lang has also become the character's co-worker.

Let's wait and see whether Marvel can star announcing the full cast and crew for the next Ant-Man movie.

Phase 4 of the MCU begins when Black Widow premieres on May 1, 2020.
